About
Small Enough to Care. Big Enough to Deliver.
Serving Southwest Michigan since 1963 with trust, personal relationships, and a commitment to our hometown.
Our History & Mission
John Tapper Automotive was founded in Paw Paw in 1963 by John H. Tapper Sr. with a simple vision: build a hometown dealership based on trust, personal relationships, and taking care of the community.
Over the years, Tapper continued to grow while staying true to its hometown roots. The company expanded its operations, eventually adding Ford alongside its established GM business by acquiring 2 Paws Ford in 2012. Today, we remain family-owned and community-focused, operated by the third generation of the Tapper family.
Our Mission: At Tapper Ford, we want you to feel like family when you visit us, and we treat each of our customers with the golden rule. While our dealerships and services have grown, our original vision remains the same: treat customers like neighbors, build relationships that last, and be a trusted part of the community for generations to come.
